Italy: Ravello

While our beautiful little town (Atrani) and Amalfi are nestled on the coast, there are many towns that are hidden away on top of the cliffs overlooking the sea. The town above Atrani is Ravello, and we ventured a nice long hike up to it and back down via a different path. I don't think that I have EVER hiked this many steps in a day. By the end my legs were numb and shaking, in a wonderful way.

It is a breathtaking journey to, around, and back down from Ravello, and a "must do" if you are in the region. That being said, you will need some stamina and basic fitness ability.

We sat at a little cafe on the main square of Ravello for a few hours, quietly enjoying sharing a bottle or two of wine, and watching the world pass by. It was blissfully perfect.

Then came the descent from Ravello to Amalfi, and its billions of steps:

After this day, I definitely felt that I was good to skip the "leg day" portion of my workouts for a while.
